Chelsey Schill Soprano

Canadian soprano Chelsey Schill has performed numerous leading roles all over Europe, including the Oper Köln, Oper Leipzig, the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg and at the Seefestspielen in Berlin. Next to many other roles, she has sung the Queen of the Night from Mozart’s „The Magic Flute“ all over Europe, Musetta in Puccini’s „La Bohème“ and Violetta in Verdi’s „La Traviata“. Further roles include Marzelline in Beethoven’s " Fidelio", Poppea in Handel’s "Agrippina“ as well as Waldvogel in Wagner’s "Siegfried" and Woglinde in Wagner’s "Götterdämmerung" with stage director Graham Vick. Chelsey Schill’s specialization in contemporary music has been an ongoing passion throughout her musical career. She has sung multiple world premieres in Europe and Canada. Most recently, she sang the lead soprano role in the world premiere of Tomasz Prasqual’s opera "The Architecture of Light" in Poznan, Poland with further performances in Cologne, Germany. At the Grand Theatre de Luxembourg, she created the role of Despina in the world premiere of Kerger's "Fintenzauber". In addition, she created the roles of the Green Snake in the world premiere in Nunes's opera "Das Märchen" as well as Porta-Voz in Corte-Real's "Banksters" in Lisbon, Portugal. Internatioanl oratorio performances include Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony" under the direction of José Cura, Mendelssohn's "Elias", Brahms' "Ein deutsches Requiem", Orff's "Carmina Burana", Vivaldi's "Gloria" and Mozart´s "Requiem". Numerous concert performances include Alban Berg's "Lulu Suite" and "Faust Scenes" by Robert Schumann. Chelsey Schill was born in Oakville, Canada. She earned a Bachelor of Music as well as a Diploma in Opera at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, then continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany, obtaining an Artist Diploma with distinction.

Chelsey Schill Soprano

Die kanadische Sopranistin Chelsey Schill hat mit grossem Erfolg zahlreiche Rollen in ganz Europa gesungen u.a. an der Oper Köln, Oper Leipzig, am Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lissabon, Grand Theatre de Luxembourg und an den Seefestspielen Berlin. Neben vielen anderen Rollen sang sie die Königin der Nacht aus Mozarts „Die Zauberflöte“ in ganz Europa, Musetta in Puccinis “La Bohème”, und Violetta in Verdis “La Traviata” in Toronto. Weitere ergreifende Auftritte hatte sie als Marzelline in Beethovens " Fidelio", Poppea in Händels "Agrippina", sowie Waldvogel in Wagners "Siegfried" und Woglinde in Wagners "Götterdämmerung" unter der Regie von Graham Vick. Chelsey Schill verfügt über ein breites Repertoire. Ihre Liebe zur zeitgenössischen Musik begleitet sie seit Beginn ihrer Karriere. Sie sang an zahlreichen Uraufführungen in ganz Europa und Kanada u.a. die Sopranrolle in Tomasz Prasquals Oper “The Architecture of Light” in Poznan und in Köln. Weitere Uraufführungen führten sie an das Grand Theatre de Luxembourg, wo sie die Despina in Kergers „Fintenzauber" mit grossem Erfolg verkörperte sowie an die Oper Lissabon, wo sie die Rolle der grünen Schlange in Nunes Oper „Das Märchen“ und die Rolle der Porta-Voz in Corte-Reals „Banksters“ sang. Als Konzertsängerin ist sie international in zahlreichen Konzerten aufgetreten u.a. in Beethovens „9. Symphonie" unter der Leitung von José Cura, in Mendelssohns „Elias", in Brahms „Ein deutsches Requiem", in Orffs „Carmina Burana" Vivaldis „Gloria" und in Mozarts „Requiem". Weiter konzertierte sie erfolgreich mit der „Lulu Suite“ von Alban Berg und mit den „Faust Szenen“ von Robert Schumann. Chelsey Schill ist in Oakville, Kanada, geboren und erlangte in ihrem Heimatland an der Wilfrid Laurier University einen „Bachelor of Music“ und ein „Diploma in Opera“. In Deutschland studierte sie an der Hochschule für Musik in Köln und erwarb ihr Solistendiplom in Oper, Oratorium und Lied mit Auszeichnung.
